What is Tempered Glass?
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. It is actually a kind of prestressed glass. To improve the strength, physical methods are usually used to form compressive stress on the surface. This enhances the glass resistance to wind pressure, thermal stress, and impact.
When damaged by external forces, it breaks into small obtuse particles similar to honeycombs, which are not easy to cause harm to the human body.
The impact strength and flexural strength of tempered glass are 3 to 5 times that of ordinary glass of the same thickness.
It can withstand 3 times the temperature difference of ordinary glass and can handle changes up to 150°C, preventing thermal cracking.
Widely used in high-rise building doors and windows, glass curtain walls, indoor partitions, lighting ceilings, sightseeing elevator passages, furniture, glass guardrails, home appliances, and more.
